Resilience Self-Assessment Tool

Resilience Self-Assessment Tool

As part of the European Agromix project, there were two deliverables (D1.1 and D1.3) dedicated to developing a protocol for an Assessment of Farm-Resilience. These reports, although developed for research purposes during the project, inspired MVARC to create the online Resilience Assessment Tool. By reproducing the deliverables which aimed to capture the state of resilience of the farm, the tool can be used both for getting acquainted with some key resilience indicators and how many of them are being achieved in the current farming system, while also allowing a visualisation of future scenarios (e.g. by cloning the current state, and editing for the scenario of future management). Despite being more of a research tool (we believe that it needs some simplification, e.g. researchers are sometimes complicated asking/answering things :) ), we made it available “as is”. Eventually we could provide in future a simplification of the tool towards something better suited for non-scientific users.

If you are interested in these kinds of tools and have research proposals under development, let us know. We are happy to contribute not only with the architecture, design and user interface, but also with the scientific background (modelling) of the decision process/scoring of backend. Other examples of a similar concept and user interface experience (e.g. form collecting data and showing scores depending on answers), can be found in the online version of Global Farm Metrics research tool,  and Public Goods Tool (PG-Tool)
